Painting an Interactive Musical Landscape - Koji Kondo GDC Lecture

Koji Kondo, the music creator who has inspired many, possibly near all, video game inspired musicians around these parts conducted a conference at GDC this Wednesday March 8th. He talks about the process of making a game soundtrack that melds with the game, and makes the game truly memorable. Nintendo Wii Fanboy has a great article from the conference Painting an Interactive Musical Landscape on their site. Also a quick main point overview of the lecture over at Joystiq. We owe a lot to this guy for creating some of the first truly memorable video game compositions as well as proving that video game music is neither disposable nor any less artistic than any other form of music and continuing to do so for over twenty years.
