This album came out some time ago, but after receiving some good words about it, I figured, it's best to announce it late, rather than never! California musicians Batphone, released their Legend of Zelda EP fairly recently, and is still very much worth investigating for yourself. The album comes to us via Dwell Records, and can be purchased for about $7 from the dwell records website or via iTunes or amazon.com. Utilizing bombastic drum loops, fuzzed out bass guitar, and a variety of pianos and synthesizers, the Los Angeles duo Batphone has put a new spin on an old favorite. Spanning the entire Zelda catalog, this 5 song EP takes the video game’s past and present and brings it into the future. This release is creative and ambitious, while still maintaining the underlying themes that gamers have been listening to for years.
