Mode 7 couldn’t get through the month without dropping some more video game hip hop. Time to kick off the year with some fresh sounds with Mode 7’s new mixtape, S.O.S. Volume 1.
Six themes you’ve never heard, from games you’ve never played, remixed and rapped about by Mode 7. Games remixed include Dash Galaxy, Nintendo World Cup, and Tetris 2. Not exactly standards of video game music, and that is why the S.O.S. mixtape series exists.
S.O.S. part 2 drops on Feb 3rd, in time for the first Bandcamp Friday of the year. Volume 2 will include 6 more tracks from six more obscure games, especially puzzle games such as Super Puyo and Meteos.
